What this actually means for you

This is the largest amount of memory NVIDIA puts on a single card outside of a datacenter part. For a small team that wants to self-host one serious open model without buying a rack-mounted server, this is usually the smallest real setup that gets the job done — it plugs into a normal workstation chassis.

Solo capacity: at the standard FP16/BF16 rule of thumb (2 GB of GPU memory per billion parameters, plus 20% overhead for context), this unit's 96 GB can hold an open-source model up to roughly 40 billion parameters before you'd need more hardware.
